It is with some sadness and lots of identification that I report this sad message. 67% of new parents complain they have less sex, less fun and more arguments than they did before kids. Frankly, I’m surprised it isn’t a higher number. I estimate another 15% are in denial. No, I’m not being pessimistic. Becoming a parent is the most wonderful, challenging, puzzling and exhilaratingly exhausting experience of one’s life. Combine that with family of origin issues that seem to pop out of no where and you’ve got a recipe for our high divorce rate. I often joke, well I’m not really joking, that my husband and I had 9 amazing years together… and then we became parents. I didn’t expect that the children that we both so desperately wanted together would rock the foundation that we built for them. But it did…and we are still married. So here are some tips, ideas and suggestions!
